Felt washer to suit some later 9D engines. The felt seal is slightly conical and requires the casing behind the gearbox bearing to have matching machining (this is done from the factory and would be difficult to do retrospectively)

Once you have removed the main gearbox bearing, you will see if this felt is needed. There is also a steel washer which goes in-between this and the bearing.
